As part of the ACU’s ongoing policy of rider development and education, and in line with requirements as laid down in the 2026 ACU Library, all first time applicants for Road Race Licences must undergo a virtual classroom training course and a basic riding ability test.

The virtual classroom course will take place on Sunday 1st March 2026 at 10.00 am and will be hosted on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Full details will be sent to you nearer the time.  The purpose of the classroom course is to ensure that you understand the basic safety and organisational requirements to participate in road racing. Before any new licence can be issued, you must satisfactorily attend the course and pass the multiple-choice test. The Basic Rider Assessment Course will take place at Darley Moor Sports Centre, Ashbourne DE6 2ET on Monday 2nd March 2026 at 10.00 am.
